A day of nasty weather on Brindisi airfield, Southern Italy, Christmas 1944: the airplane in the heavy rain is the Liberator B.VI, GR-U, KG-834, former USAAF’s 465th BG B-24J-35-CF, #44-10339, of the RAF Polish 1586 SD (Special Duty) Flight, 138th Special Squadron, committed on covert missions to Poland. The aircraft was scrapped on 3 March 1947.
